| This is a set of
interrelated projects aimed at improving agronomic production in saline
environments. Included are projects studying the domestication of
halophytes (salt-loving plants), the screening of cultivars for
productivity in saline soils, the evaluation of agronomic practices for
enhancing tolerance to salinity, as well as the investigation of the
physiological basis of plant salt tolerance.
